Today in math we used coloured tiles to cover a book and then a rectangle. Then we counted the tiles.
Today your child brought home a blue notice about our next field trip to the North Surrey Arena for ice skating. Please get these forms back accompanied by any necessary rental money in an envelope or baggie by Thursday. Thanks. We have been having a lot of fun with fairy tales this month. Last week we focused on Goldilocks and the Three Bears and this week we have read several versions of The Three Little Pigs. Each morning, we move our pig on the Smartboard into the brick house before the wolf comes to try and blow it down. Below are clips of some songs we have enjoyed at school. The Three Little Pigs Today we used our measuring skills to put our shoes in a row from biggest to smallest. Matilda's were the smallest and Sunwoo's were the biggest. Then we ordered lengths of string and then we put all ten Cuisinaire rods in order from longest to shortest. Today we used yarn to measure how tall we are. Then we taped our photo to the yarn and displayed them on a chart. Umber and Abigeyle were the tallest and Naomi and Felix were the shortest. As we continue our study of fairy tales, today we discussed elements of the story Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We learned about setting, characters and how the story was sequenced. Each child chose a part to illustrate then we displayed them on a chart. Ask your child which part they made. Tomorrow we will do the same activity for the story The Three Little Pigs. |
