Today your child brought home a notice about class t-shirts. This is a special project we do with grade one children. The cost of the project is $20 per child. Please send the money in an envelope or baggie labelled with your child's name. Thanks.
Today we learned about what it was like to go to school 100 years ago. We saw some old toys, school bell, water dipper and a dunce cap. We also talked about using the outhouse instead of a bathroom.
Today I read a very funny story to the class called "The Wonky Donkey". Then we watched these short video clips of the story. They loved it!
Today we introduced a new unit in social studies. We are learning about how things were in Surrey 100 years ago. We borrowed a kit from the Surrey Museum. Here are the things we looked at today.
Today we used squirt glue for the first time. We put glue over the letters of our name and then stuck Froot Loops to the glue.
Today we welcomed a new student to our class. Her name is Aaliyah, just like the other Aaliyah in our class. I was very proud of how kind and welcoming the children were. Welcome Aaliyah.
