Today we finished our Kindness Rocks project. We started by choosing and washing a rock from Mrs. Watt’s garden. Then we painted our rock with either pink or gold or silver paint. The next day we talked about messages of kindness. We drew a heart shape around the painted area and wrote a message of kindness in the heart using a sharpie. Today we had help from Roy’s mom to cover our rocks with shiny varnish. Next we are placing our rocks in the courtyard to remind us to always be kind.

Today we practiced retelling the story of Jack and the Beanstalk by looking at the sequencing activity we completed last week. Then we worked in partners to make a video recording of the story in our own words. Then we uploaded the video to our FreshGrade portfolio. Check your child’s portfolio to see their video.
Today we had our prize for filling the bucket of caring rocks. We got to play any game of our choice on the iPads today.
Today we celebrated the 100th day of school. We started with 100 claps, stomps, jumps and 100 seconds of silence. Then we counted the 100 treats we brought on a counting mat. Once all the treats were counted we dumped them into a big bowl and mixed them together. Then we shared the treats. The kids loved it.
