Today in math we worked on estimating. This is making a good guess at a quantity then checking by counting. Below is a picture of our caring rock bucket. Have your child estimate how many rocks they think are in the bucket and write their guess in the comments section. Tomorrow we will count to see how many. Whoever guesses closest will get a prize!
We have just been informed that a child in our class has a mild case of Chicken Pox. If your child has not been immunized against Chicken Pox, please check them regularly for spots. If you see some, keep your child home from school, seek medical attention and inform the school. Thanks.
Today in science we were talking about animals that live in the forests of B.C. The children are especially interested in bears. Here is a short clip we watched today about bears. Your child will have to log in as they do for Freshgrade to view this video.
Harmony brought her new puppy, Comet to meet the class today.
Today Tyler brought a cool science project he made with his Grandpa. Way to go, Tyler!
Tomorrow we are going to visit Mrs. Onions' class. They have been doing a cardboard challenge where they make something out of an old cardboard box. They have invited us to come and view their projects. I am told that they will also have some treats for sale. If you would like your child to purchase a small treat, you may want to send along a small amount of money to school tomorrow. Treats are priced from 25 cents to $3.
Here we are doing our action song, "Five Green and Speckled Frogs". Look at those giant bugs!
Today in science we talked about animals that live in the desert region of B.C. near Osoyoos. Ask your child how these animals have adapted to the hot desert climate.
