We have finished our study of light and sound at school and are getting ready for Christmas. December promises to be a busy month as we approach the Christmas holidays. Remember to keep checking the website/blog as I post photos and information every day. The website is www.mrswattclass.weebly.com. Also, get in the habit of checking your child’s Freshgrade portfolio regularly so that you can stay informed of their progress at school. Here are the highlights for the month of December.
Dec. 2 – December Assembly at 10:30 and Ugly Christmas Sweater Day
Our class is performing the Reindeer Pokey at this assembly. Parents are welcome. Don’t worry if you can’t attend as I will post a video of our performance on the website. Please dress your child in dark pants or skirt and a Christmas themed shirt or red or green shirt.
Dec. 4-5– Scholastic Book Fair – books will be for sale in our library at lunch and after school.
Dec. 13 – Last day for donations to our Christmas Hamper Drive: We are accepting donations of unwrapped toys, food, cash, gift cards, etc. to help families in our own community.
Dec. 16 – End of term one – For some classes, this is the day that report cards will be sent home. For our class, we will be sending a short letter outlining the details about how your child’s Freshgrade portfolio has replaced formal written report cards. Please fill out the bottom of this form and return it to school
Dec. 19 – Doughnut Day Send a toonie with your child to purchase a doughnut to help support our grade seven classes.
Dec. 20 – Pajama Day and last day of school before winter break.
