Today we celebrated Madhav's birthday. We also introduced our new superpower called "Teamwork". We worked in our table groups to perform the song "Happy Birthday". Each team had to work together to decide on their role. For their performance, they needed to have at least one singer, one hummer and one snapper. They were given a few minutes to practice and then they all presented their song to the class. Here are the performances.

Today we had our wrap-up assembly for our Aboriginal Week at Dogwood. We made a thank-you card for Mrs. Anderson and two girls talked in front of the whole school telling about our turn. Well done, girls.
Today we had a visit from Mrs. Anderson from the school district Aboriginal department. She taught us about important plants and animals throughout the four seasons. We made our own stuffed salmon. I was very proud of the level of engagement the children showed.
Today we had three helpers from Ms. Harrison’s class work with us for part of the day. Thanks for all your help, Christopher, Naomi and Ryland.
Today we had a lesson on internet safety. Children are reminded to never answer e-mails from strangers and never give out personal information on the internet. Here is a clip of a video we watched today about internet safety.
Today we celebrated Earth Day with Mrs. Mitchell’s class. We painted an earth picture on our t-shirts, worked on our Book Creator projects, went on a scavenger hunt, and pulled weeds and cleaned up the courtyard garden. The children loved it. Thanks to the parents who came to help.
Today we did a special craft with our big buddies in Ms. Wylie’s class. First we painted our own half paper plate in the morning. Then in the afternoon our big buddies helped us add the sun ray triangles and rainbow strips and googgly eyes. We think they look awesome.
As part of our Earth Day activities, we will be cleaning up and improving the garden in the courtyard of our school. If possible, children are asked to bring any small garden tools to school on Friday. We will need small shovels and small hand rakes as well as gardening gloves. Please label with your child's name and we will be sure to return them after school. Thanks.
Today I gave the kindergarten children 100 small plastic cups with the numbers from 1-100 printed on them. They went into the hallway and lined them all up in the correct order. Great job!
