Today we celebrated Valentine's Day at school. We started by handing out cards and treats to all our friends. In math we sorted and graphed some valentine candies. We opened the cards and treats right before lunch. Then in the afternoon we played at three valentine stations along with kids in grades one, two and three.

Today we had our second turn in the gym for Fun Fitness led by Mrs. Aulin. Here we are doing "Hey Baby".
After two snow days in a row it was nice to get back to school. Check your child's Freshgrade portfolio for some new items. Listen to CKNW 980 radio for the latest snow closure updates.
Today we had our turn in the Starlab from the Planetarium. We all crawled into the big blue dome and enjoyed some space travel to lots of different planets. The children loved it!
Today we made a graph of our predictions about what the groundhog will do tomorrow on Groundhog Day. If he sees his shadow, we will have six more weeks of winter. If he doesn't see his shadow, that means that spring is coming soon. Each child coloured and cut out a groundhog and glued it to the graph according to their own prediction. I have asked the children to watch the news tomorrow morning before school to find out what the Canadian groundhog, Wireton Willy, did. Ask your child what their guess was.
