Just to let you know that this Friday is Earth Day and we will be celebrating with six different activity stations. Some of the stations involve painting and one station will involve digging in the garden. You might want to keep the fancy clothes at home this Friday!
Here is a video clip about recycling that we have enjoyed at school.
Today we started a new project on the iPads. We started by remembering ways that kids can help the earth. The children worked with their Care Pair to think of four ways they can help. They wrote them on a sheet and then started making a book on the iPad using the app Book Creator. They used photos, videos and pictures to show how they help.
Today we played the pockets game for the third and final time. Yesterday we had over 80 pockets so today we were trying for over 100. We got our wish. Today's total was 125! We loved counting by ten's for this activity.
Today we played the pockets game again. Once again the children put one unifix cube in each of their pockets. We pulled out all the cubes and counted our class total. Yesterday we had 45 pockets and today we had 86! We are going to play one more time tomorrow. Maybe we will make it to 100 tomorrow.
Today in math we played a game called pockets. The children put one unifix cube in each pocket of their clothing. Then we pulled the cubes from the pockets and counted them. If we had 10 we put them together in a stick. We counted all the cubes for the class. Today we had a total of 45 pockets. We are going to play the same game tomorrow and see if we can get more than 45. Your child may want to wear clothes with lots of pockets tomorrow. |
