Check your child's Freshgrade portfolio for a new video of a math game using dice and cubes. Dice games are a great way to practice counting.
We really enjoyed the Willy Wonka drama presentation at Betty Huff School today. The cast was entirely made of children and we were very impressed with how well they knew their lines and the words to the songs. The special effects were also excellent. I was very proud of the excellent audience behaviour from our students. Way to go! Also, thanks to the parents who drove and helped supervise on this trip.
Parents, remember we are going to Betty Huff School on Monday for the Willy Wonka performance. Drivers please come to the classroom at 9:30. If you are not driving, please send your child's booster seat to school on Monday. Thanks.
Today we started a new project using the app called Book Creator. The children were paired with a child from Mrs. Mitchell’s class. Their task is to select at least four ways that kids can help the earth. They must include the use of the iPad camera, video, internet pictures, etc. They also must vary the page colour, text colour and font. We will be assessing these projects based on their level of ability with all the functions of the Book Creator app and how well they worked with their partner. The finished projects will be posted to your child’s FreshGrade portfolio next week.
In a show of support for the victims of the Humboldt Broncos bus accident, students are asked to wear any type of sports jersey to school tomorrow (Thursday). Students who don't have a jersey can wear the Broncos colours of green and yellow.
Check your child's Freshgrade portfolio for a photo of their "Four Seasons of an Apple Tree" art project. They are beautiful.
In an effort to remind students about anti-bullying, Mrs. Keeper has declared tomorrow (Friday) as another Pink Shirt Day. Students are encouraged to wear pink to school tomorrow.
