Today we had a visit from the kindergarten children in Mrs. Noble's and Mrs. Sladek's class. They came to see what it will be like when they are in grade one. Thanks to our kids for being great teachers.
Today we held Student Led Conferences after school. I was very proud of the way the children showed their work to their family.
Today 9 more children brought their completed Freshgrade Scavenger Hunt so they all enjoyed a popsicle at recess. There are only 5 children who have not brought their papers in. I have lots more popsicles!
Today 10 students brought back their completed Freshgrade Scavenger Hunt. Their prize was an ice cream filled popsicle. I have lots more Popsicles, so get busy on those Scavenger Hunts!
Today your child brought home a notice about our up-coming Student Led Conferences and Freshgrade Scavenger Hunt. I have copied it here for your reference. This Thursday, May 12 at 1:30 we have be having Student Led Conferences in the classroom. Parents are encouraged to attend with their child to view their work and participate in some math activities. We are officially dismissing the class at 1:30 so if you are unable to attend the conferences, you will need to make arrangements to have your child picked up from school at 1:30. Parents who can’t make the Thursday time, please let me know and we can arrange an alternate time. At the conference, your child will take a leadership role to show you his/her work in the classroom. In advance of the conferences, I would like all parents to have a chance to review their child’s Freshgrade portfolio with them. To make it fun, I have created a “Freshgrade Scavenger Hunt”. There are ten items to be found within your child’s Freshgrade portfolio. Please set aside a time to go through the portfolio with your child to search for the requested items. When complete, have your child return the Scavenger Hunt to school for a prize! Good luck and have fun.
