Today we talked about ways we help each other at school. First we talked with our Care Pair about all the ways we can help each other. Then I recorded their ideas on the smartboard. Each child chose one way that they help others and copied it into their drawing books and drew a picture. Ask your child how they help at school.
Today in science we learned about the life cycle of the pumpkin plant. Many children had a turn to move the life cycle phases to match the pictures on the smartboard. Thanks to a few more parents who came forward, we now have enough drivers for Aldor Acres tomorrow. Remember to send your child in boots with a small snack in their pocket. If you are not driving, we will also need their booster seat. Parents we are very short of drivers for our trip to Aldor Acres on Friday. As of today we only have seats for 14 children and we need 24. If you are able to drive, please let me know right away, otherwise the trip may have to be cancelled. Thanks. Today we in HACE (health and career education) we reviewed fruits and vegetables as an appropriate snack for recess. The children took turns matching the names to the different fruits and vegetables on the smartboard. Then each child was asked to draw, colour and label one fruit and one vegetable in their drawing books. Here is their work. Ask your child which ones they chose. Today we met our buddies from Ms. Wylie and Ms. Manery's class. We worked with our buddies to make these yummy candy turkeys. Gobble gobble! Today we painted the first two pictures on our t-shirts. For the September picture we put paint on the children's hand and stamped it onto the shirt. Then we sprinkled glitter on the handprint to remind us about the fake germs. The October picture was an orange maple leaf with brown veins. Each month we will add a new picture to the shirts. Remember to send one whole apple to school tomorrow for our apple turkeys. |
