Tomorrow is the day that the photographer will be back to do any retakes of individual photos. If you would like to have your child's photo re-taken, please put a note in their Home Reading book. Thanks.

We had a great visit to the public library today. Thanks to the parents who drove. Remember parents are responsible for returning the books to the public library.
Remember that we are going to the Guildford branch of the Surrey Public Library tomorrow afternoon. If you sent me an application, your child will have a library card waiting for them at the library. If not, you will need to send your child's library card to school tomorrow or they will not be able to borrow books. Also, if you are not driving, you need to send your child's booster seat to school tomorrow. Thanks.
We have been using ten frames in math at school. They are a great tool for helping children count and see numbers in a variety of ways. Here is a short video about the value of ten frames for children.
Today we celebrated Rayne's birthday which comes this weekend. After recess, we went to the gym for our Remembrance Day assembly. It was very different for the children as there is no clapping or cheering and the program included a moment of silence. I was very proud of all the children for their outstanding conduct during the assembly. I was especially proud of Kirra, Christina and Trinity who presented our class wreath at the front. Remember tomorrow is a professional day so there is no school for children. Have a great weekend.
Parents, for an upcoming craft, we will require many small empty milk cartons. Either the 250 ml. single serving size or the 1 L. size will work. If you usually use these, please rinse them out and send them to school for the next few weeks. We will need almost 100 so we are starting to collect them early. Thanks for your help.
Tomorrow is our school Remembrance Day assembly at 10:45. Parents are welcome. Students will receive a poppy tomorrow from the Canadian Legion. If you would like to send a donation for the poppy, it would be appreciated. Here are our peace doves which will be displayed on the gym wall for the assembly.
This week we welcomed a new student to our class. Her name is Bella and she is from a neighbouring school. She already has lots of friends in the class as everyone has been very kind in including her. Also, I handed out the last prize today for the Freshgrade Scavenger Hunt. We have achieved 100% participation! Thank you for your support. Remember that Friday is a non-instructional day. Have a great weekend.
