Today we went back through the neighbourhood and collected the food donations for the food bank. We took turns running up to the front door and collecting the bag of food and leaving a thank-you note. We loaded all the food into Marissa's grandpa's car then when we got back to school we helped carry the bags into the gym. We collected a LOT of food. When we got back to our class, we all had a drink of hot chocolate. Thanks to all the parents who came to help with this event. Way to go, Dogwood! Today your child brought home a note about what they are bringing for the turkey lunch. Please send the items on December 14. I am still looking for more parent helpers on that day. Let me know if you can help. Here are the reindeer we made yesterday. Also, remember to wear a fun Christmas hat tomorrow for our Jingle Bell Walk. Today we made reindeer to help pull Santa's sleigh. We traced our hands for the antlers and used lots of glitter! Today I sent home the permission letter for our trip to Grouse Mountain. Please return those as soon as possible. Thanks. Today we walked through the neighbourhood delivering bags with notes attached asking for donations to the food bank. We wore our Christmas hats and carried bells. We also mailed our letters to Santa. Thanks to the parents who came to help today. We have finished our study of light and sound at school and are getting ready for Christmas. December promises to be a busy month as we approach the Christmas holidays. Our class will be performing at the Christmas concert on December 9. If you haven’t ordered your tickets yet, don’t delay as they always sell out. For the costumes for the concert, we will be using our class t-shirts (inside out and backwards) as our snowman suit. We will make and attach paper buttons at school so all we need from home is a brightly coloured hat, scarf and mittens. Please send these to school in a bag labelled with your child’s name on Monday, December 7. On the concert day, please dress your child in dark pants and a white shirt. Remember to keep checking the website/blog as I post photos and information every day. Here are the highlights for the month of December.
