Mehr made this beautiful picture and sent it to me It is a message to all of us to stay safe. Her parents gave permission to post it here for everyone to see. Well done, Mehr. Parents, if your child would like to send me a picture they have made or perhaps a short video of themselves doing something at home, I could post it on our website. I hear there are some good basketball players and bike riders out there.

As of Thursday at 3:45 pm the grade ones at Dogwood Elementary have read for 103.9 hours and completed 895 books on the Epic reading site! Wow!! You are amazing readers! Keep up the fantastic job grade ones. Mrs. Mitchell and Mrs. Watt are so proud of you.
Here is a video message from our EA, Miss W.
We were hoping to connect with you and your child over the phone sometime this Thursday. We would really like a chance to chat with the children and to check in with parents to see how things are going with this new remote learning. We hope that children would enjoy chatting with their teacher and that we could provide a more personal connection with each child. We are also wondering how parents and children are managing with the workload and with the technology. This will be a great chance for teachers to provide any extra support parents or children may need. Rather than setting up a rigid schedule, we would prefer to call at a time that works for your family. Please email your child’s teacher with a preferred time range to call (9:00-10:00, 10:00-11:00, 11:-12:00), etc. as well as the best number for us to use. If it doesn’t matter what time, please let us know that as well. When we call, your caller ID will likely say unknown number.
Thanks, Allison Mitchell and Lorrie Watt We have had yet another Social Distancing birthday. Happy birthday, Monique. I hope you had fun. 🎉🎉🎉
Mason also celebrated his birthday this week. I bet those marshmallows were yummy. We miss you Mason.
Here is a short video explaining to parents the purpose of using a ten frame in math. All of the work described in the video has already been done with your child. Now we are moving on to addition and subtraction of numbers to 20. That is why I asked your child to make two ten frames. Try some of the activities shown in the video to help you check for understanding with your child.
Chloe celebrated her 7th birthday Social Distancing style. We hope you had fun, Chloe. I will bop you with a balloon next time I see you.🎉🎉🎉
Aiden celebrated his birthday during Spring Break. We didn't get a chance to celebrate at school. Ask your child what I do with the balloon before I give it to them at school. Happy birthday, Aiden. I hope you get lots of comments!
I have now sent Freshgrade log ins to all families who have replied to my first email. Below is a step by step graphic in case your child is having trouble logging in. When you first open the app there is a place to type in an access code. We don't use that as Surrey School District has a special "managed" account. The children have done this many times at school but may have forgotten. If you have any trouble, just send me an email.
