Last week the children put the first two pictures on their t-shirts. In September we learned about the importance of washing our hands to prevent the spread of germs. To illustrate the point, one day we put glitter on one child's hand and then she shook hands with every other child in the class. Of course everyone had glitter (fake germs) on their hand by the end. As a memory of this lesson, we painted each child's hand with fabric paint and stamped it on their t-shirt. Then glitter was added to the wet paint. The October t-shirt picture is a spider as we will be learning about these amazing creatures this month. For the t-shirt picture, we used a rubber stamp of a spider and the children added their own eyes and fangs with fabric paint. Thanks to the parent volunteers who helped with this project. We will be adding a new picture to the t-shirts each month.
